From a one-man shop in his parents’ garage 35 years ago, Anthony Attanasio, the Appliance Doctor, has grown into a successful appliance service force in the New York Metropolitan area, now employing over 25 people. This growth can only be attributed to one thing: outstanding customer service.
“I got my start as an appliance repair technician for Sears,” says Anthony. “After learning the ropes and gaining confidence, I realized that there were a lot of things I could do better. So, I decided to start my own repair business. I picked up a small contract in Yonkers, then the Bronx. I worked to make sure that each and every customer was taken care of in a timely manner, and that the repairs were done right the first time. Customers appreciate attention to detail, and that’s why they continue to call us for all their appliance service needs. We are very fortunate to have built a wonderful family of loyal customers over the past 35 years.”
The Appliance Doctor has built a solid reputation among customers and appliance manufacturers alike. “We are pleased to be highly regarded by the top manufacturers in the industry. We are proud to have received the designation of ‘Factory Authorized Service Center’ for Bosch, Thermador, Dacor, DCS, Fisher & Paykel, Asko and Miele while we are also one of the top service companies for other major brands including KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Maytag, Whirlpool, Kenmore, SubZero, GE and more.”
The Appliance Doctor services thousands of residential customers in Manhattan, the Bronx and Westchester, and recently expanded to the Greenwich/Cos Cob area of Connecticut. They also service over 450 multi-unit residential and commercial buildings for 45 different management firms.
Keeping current with industry trends is also an important aspect of the Appliance Doctor’s success. Anthony is a board member for the Professional Service Association (PSA), the second largest appliance trade association in the country. He is also a member of the Manhattan Resident Managers’ Club, Emerald Guild, and Metropolitan Building Managers of NY.
